John was born 02/23/1925 to Ralph and Pearl Dixon in Traverse City MI. Out of school John joined the Navy and fought in WWII on the USS Intrepid battle ship. He worked for Shaw Box Dresser Crane & Hoist until he retired, after retirement he also worked for Stewart Engineering.
He was a hard worker, avid fisherman, hunter, enjoyed golfing, traveling across the states. John was a music lover enjoyed polka dancing & finale dancing with Carol or anyone willing to take the floor, he took great pride in his garden and any who were willing to learn he would teach, he mostly enjoyed visits from all his children and grandchildren.
John married Carol A Steinkraus Sept 21,1968
after celebrating 50 years of marriage she proceeded him in death April, 2019
Together the couple had 3 children; John Dixon Jr, Pamela (Randy) Broughton, Timothy (Dawn Buchner) Dixon
7 grandchildren; Surei (Larry) Pierce, Jeremy Broughton , Tim (Heather) Denio, Nichole Jonas, Cody (Vanessa) Jonas, Hunter (Alexa) Dixon Summer Jonas. 9 Great Grandchildren; Joshua (Ashley) Pierce, Marcus, Lauren, Larissa, Jeremy Jr, Beckett, Raeleigh, Makenna, Abigail, 2 great great grandchildren Wyatt & Paislie.,
Siblings; Chester Dixon, LeRoy Dixon, Lawrence Dixon & Delcie White
He was proceeded in death by wife Carol Dixon, Brother Ivan Dixon and parents Ralph & Pearl Dixon.
Private burial service has taken place, a memorial service will be held at a later date due to Covid19
