Kathleen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 7, 1919 to Kolman and Rose Gerencer. A life long resident of the Muskegon area and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Alter Society and participated at Adoration-chapel for many years. When asked how she lived so long, she would reply “work hard and don’t feel sorry for yourself”. She always lived up to that goal. She was a good cook and excellent baker. Everyone always looked forward to her Christmas baked specialties. A wonderful mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She always put others first.
She married Frank Weiss in 1939. He preceded her in death. She married Eugene Rewalt in 1976. He survives her, along with her children, Jean (Richard) Corsi, Frank (Sharon) Weiss, Peggy (Donald) Nielson, and James (Terri) Weiss; step-children Ken (Vickie) Rewalt, and Judy (Brent) Zarlenga; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brothers Louie (Gail) Gerencer, and Rudy Gerencer; Sisters-in-law, Fern Gerencer, Shirley Goodman; many extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 step-daughter, 1 step-son, and 1 step-grandson.
A private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Muskegon.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Kathleen’s life will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
