

Kenneth Andrew Kantola, Sr., age 84 completed his life of service and started his new life of reward on September 22, 2013. He was born in Detroit, Michigan January 10, 1929 to Andrew and Maude Kantola and grew up in Kaleva and Hesperia before settling in Muskegon after graduation from Hesperia High School. In 1950 he married the lovely Alice Jane Turner. He is survived by his bride of 63 years and 5 children Barbara Kantola – Muskegon, Kay (Ken) Knowles – Grand Blanc, MI, Kenn (Denise) Kantola – Ballwin, MO, Kevin (Beth) Kantola – Muskegon and Tim Kantola – Muskegon, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Marvin (Barb) Kantola - Niles, MI and Ernest (Kay) Kantola – White Cloud, Mi. Kenneth retired from Rust-Oleum where he enjoyed a career first in route sales and later as a District Sales Manager servicing stores in Michigan. He lived a life of service to his church – Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, where he spent over 35 years as Sunday School Superintendent and also served as an Elder, Chairman of Finances and other positions. He was also an active supporter of Center Lake Bible Camp, acting as the coordinator for an annual golf fund raiser for the camp. After retirement he continued in service to the State of Michigan as an Ombudsman for Medicare and Medicaid recipients. Besides his family and church, he had a passion for golf and loved to play the courses up and down Western Michigan. Visitation will be at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2013 with the funeral at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church at 11 am on Friday, September 27, 2013.
