Lavonne Kay Kennedy

May 29, 1949July 1, 2020

Our dear friend Lavonne Kennedy was born 5/29/49 and left this earth 7/1/2020. She was a singular person to all who knew her especially those of us who knew her greater than 30 years. Lavonne did things on her terms. She was witty, funny, and smarter than she let on. She knew everything and everyone who did it in this town. Her favorite song “Born to be Wild” pretty much summed her up. So many things I could say, but she left this world at a time where a pandemic robbed her of all the friends and people who stimulated her. They were not able to see her regularly, and this hastened her desire to be restored to her parents. She worked many years in the clerical portion of Mercy and their physicians, and previous to that, at Muskegon General.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Dorothy Maycroft. She has left many to mourn and miss her, including her son, Kevin, from Sarasota, Florida. She has left behind too many friends to name, but most especially, Jack Kennedy, Marsha Lamb Franklin, Nancy Pringle Bogue, Cheryl Bogue Wittenburg, and Lori Clark who has been her arms and legs for the last few years and without whom she would have been unable to function as well as she did.

A visitation for Lavonne will be held on Tuesday July 14th from 6:00 Pm till 7:00 Pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and regulation put in place by the State of Michigan, public capacity will be limited, and guests are required to wear a mask to enter the building.

I can not perceive a world without you, It does not seem real. You had a tendency for exaggeration so I did not believe it was time for you to go.
You were my first roommate. We got into some small trouble but mostly we had fun, fun, fun. I don't think anyone had more fun for longer than all of us.
Me, Marsha and Nancy were the sisters you did not have- for more than 50 years.
Everyone you love and lose leaves a hole in your heart but you truly were a sister in life. til i see you again.....

Wow Lavonne created some great memories for me with Karman and Lori. She showed me a whole new world when we were around 18 years old. I will always remember her for that and thankful for what she did with us. Those were the days for sure.
