Leota June Scott Bonter, age 88, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Muskegon. She was born on July 3, 1930 to Arba and Selma Bonter. She was the last of 12 children. Leota married LeRoy Scott, Jr. on April 5, 1952. They were married over 60 years before his passing. Leota worked at Mercy Hospital food service till her retirement. After retirement she worked for many years at Michigan Adventure and also Duck Creek RV resort alongside her husband. LeRoy and Leota loved to travel in their motor home, she was devoted to him, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to bake and cook and was always ready to cook anyone a meal. Leota would do anything for anyone and would help with whatever you needed. Leota is a long time member of Fifth Reformed Church. Leota is survived by her daughters Wanda Vanderberg and Chris (Jim) Sliter, 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, sister in laws, Eva (Ben) Barajas of Elkhart, IN., Carol Bonter of Whitehall, MI. and brother in law Russ Packingham of Elkhart, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy (Scotty), a son Dean Scott, her parents and 8 brothers and 3 sisters. There will be a funeral service on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., Muskegon with a visitation one hour prior.
