Lucille Doris Sherwood, age 81, passed away on April 23, 2011. She was born on July 12, 1929 in Muskegon to the late Leslie and Ellen (Burns) Kline. On April 10, 1948 she was married to John Sherwood and they were married for over 60 years until his passing in November of 2008. Lucille is survived by four children, Michael (Susan), Thomas (Sue), Vicki Lynn (Jeff) Backensto, and Robert; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Kline. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Lucille was retired from Port City Die Cast; she was an avid thrift shopper, enjoyed garage sales, and trips to the casino. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. She was a lifetime member of VFW Post #446 Ladies Auxiliary, 165 S. Getty Street where a memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, May 7 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Harbor Hospice.
