Mr. Mark E. Ferguson, age 52, passed away on November 18, 2014. He was born on March 21, 1962 to James and LaVina (Jones) Ferguson in Fremont. Mark proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for 22 ½ years, retiring in December of 2002. On May 16, 2008, Mark married Jody L. (Hettinga) Drake. They met at Muskegon Community College, where they both received Associates degrees in 2013 and 2011. Jody survives him along with his two children, Rena Baumgartner (Jeremiah) of Wichita, KS; Tony Ferguson of Fremont, MI; three step-children; seven grandchildren; his father, James (Lois) Ferguson; his mother, LaVina (Tom Sr.) Force; two brothers, Tom Jr. (Jessie) Force and Ted (Tammy) Force; two sisters, April (Dan) Arkema and Nadine Ferguson; six nieces and six nephews. A memorial service will be held at Broadway Baptist Church, 2860 S. Oak Lane, Muskegon, on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. Pastor Don Letson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Jessica’s college education.
