Martha Barnes

Martha May Barnes, wife of Leonard Barnes, passed away at age 77 on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Martha was born on March 28, 1937 in Hart, Michigan. She retired from Roosevelt Park Nursing Home after working their many years as an LPN. Martha was also a member of the Muskegon Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and baking. Martha will be lovingly remembered by her children: John (Terri) Barnes, Cheryl (Robert) Ohnesorge, Terry (Betty) Barnes, Scott Barnes; special grandchildren: Trevor and Katie; grandchildren: Lisa, Rachael, James, Jennifer, Wayne, Jamie; 14 great grandchildren; sisters: Sharon (Rob), Donna (Ray), Bev, Barb (Larry); brother: Vivian; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Johnson; her husband, Leonard Barnes; daughter, Margaret; son, Mark. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00pm. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the West Michigan Veteran’s Inc.
