Mrs. Martha Pearl Field, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was born in Fruitland Township on April 9, 1914 to Leonard and Pearl (Stephens) Johnson - Scheerer. Martha is survived by her children; Fred (Darlene) Field of Fruitport and Carol JoAnne Langlois of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly (Joseph) Langlois - Smollen; Mathew Field, Nathen (Kathy) Field and Michel (Jason) Burghardt; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild with another on the way; brother, Fred (Beverly) Scheerer of Whitehall; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Margaret Johnson of Muskegon and Dorothy Saxton of Fremont; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl A. Field and by 6 siblings. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission, 1691 Peck St., Muskegon, MI 49441.
