I always loved Mrs. Deater. She looked out of every child at school. She always had a hug ready. God bless her and her family.

We moved to the neighborhood in 1979 we went to phillips elementary from 1979 until 1982. My sister and I . She was our crossing gaurd. She was the nicest lady. She would always let you know when to stop and when to go. And you could never run across the street she would get after you for that. She will be missed. But never forgotton. My condolences to the family.

I had the privilege to take care of Mary at Sanctuary at the Shore. She was a sweet, kind woman with a heart of gold. I lived as a child just over the bridge. I saw her many times as she helped children cross the street for school. My husband was one of those children. I pray for comfort for the family but most of all that she enjoys Heaven with her Saviour

Mary was one of the most sweetest Lady I have meant in a very long time. When I would visit my father in law at the nursing home, she would always make a point to say Hello and ask how we were doing. I will never forget the day she found out I worked with Barbie and Krystal she would talk about them every time after that with me, she loved them very much. Mary would talk about all of her grand children, she loved her family so much and was so proud of all of them.

Barbie, Krystal and family I'm so sorry for your loss, may God wrap his healing arms around all of you at this time.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. My fondest memories are seeing her at the Deater reunions north - and playing with all of her children. We would often run into her if we made a trip to Muskegon from Hesperia. God Bless you all and keep you her family!
