Paul A. Mattson – age 88, of Muskegon, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013. Paul was born on July 11, 1924 in Muskegon to parents Arvid and Vendla (Steve) Mattson. He served in the United States Navy as a motor machinist 2nd class on a PT boat for three years, was stationed in Normandy and served in World War II. Paul retired from Seal Power after 36 years. He later became one of Jehovah’s witnesses and was baptized in 1975 and was part of the North Muskegon congregation. Paul loved taking care of all of his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years, Charlene; children: Robin Lynn (Carl) Brower and Pamela Allene (Andrew) Lang; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold J. (Bonnie) Mattson; sister, Shirley (Richard) Grammel and many nieces and nephews. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at Kingdom Hall (4725 Russell Rd., Muskegon).
