Pearl V. Brown, age 89 of Fruitport, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at home in the loving arms of her family. She was born on February 11, 1925 to David and Elsie Carlson in Iron County, Michigan. Pearl enjoyed taking care of her flowers in her garden and tending to her yard with her John Deere tractor. She also loved to travel and go to the casino and she was an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. Family was most important to Pearl and she made a good impression on every person she met. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John M. Brown; 6 siblings; and many friends and relatives. She is survived by her children, Kay (Garry) Eppard, Bev (Gary) Bashore, and Vickie (Bobby) Alsteens; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were very special to her; and other relatives and friends. A funeral service for Pearl will be on Thursday, January 8, 2014 at 12pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. in Muskegon. Visitation will begin 2 hours prior to the service, from 10 – 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Mercy VNS and Hospice Services.
