

The celebration of his life will be held 11 am Thursday, 9 June 2016 at Sylvester Community Church. Pastor Richard Taylor of Sylvester will be officiating. Cremation arrangements were handled by Heritage Funeral Home of Muskegon.
Ray was born in Lakeview, Michigan on 4 March 1923.He graduated at 16 as the youngest member of his class from Lakeview High School in 1939.
Ray was married to Annette Elaine Hardy on June 1944. They were married until her death in 1972. During those years they raised three children: Michael, Dennis, and Krystina. Michael’s wife, Erika and son Michael Jr. preceded Ray in death. Krystina has 2 sons: Adam and son Devin; and Patrick, who is married to Lindsey. They have 3 children Connor, Claire, and Ava.
Ray married Virginia Lacy in 1972 who also preceded him in death in 1995 after 20 yrs. of marriage. Virginia is survived by 3 children and 6 grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Ray married Leora Chapin in 1999 and was married to her 17 years until his death.
Ray worked as a farmer all of his adult life with side jobs in Corduroy Rubber, Fisher Body, Lakeview High School, Carbaloy/GE/Hitachi. Ray loved to follow the Detroit Tigers baseball team. He was a master of many skills and was actively involved in community service. He also enjoyed working on and preserving his vehicles and farm equipment. He probably planted the straightest rows of anyone for a long way around without GPS on his BN Farmall; and owned the most well preserved rust-free vehicles in the neighborhood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sylvester Community Church Music Fund. The families of Ray Flynn wish to thank Dr. Charles Brummeler for his compassionate care and Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Big Rapids.
