Raymond Greiner, age 92 of Muskegon, passed away on September 11, 2017. Raymond served his country in World War II, serving overseas in the Asiatic Theater. In 1966, Raymond began working for Huron Cement, which later became Lafarge Cement up until his retirement. Raymond and his wife Irene became members of St. Thomas Catholic Church in 1970. Family was a big part of Raymond's life, and together he and Irene hosted many family gatherings on weekends, religious holidays, and birthdays. In his spare time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Loretta Feasel and Caroline Pearson, daughter-in-law Nancy Greiner, and grandson Jack Greiner. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene; Children: Sharon (Phil) Wood, Kenneth (Cheryl) Greiner, Douglas (Ann) Greiner, David (Nancy - deceased) Greiner, Daniel Greiner, Dale Greiner, Thomas (Mary Louise) Greiner, Michael (Robin) Greiner; 33 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel in Muskegon from 5:00-7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3252 Apple Avenue in Muskegon at 11:00am. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to services. Entombment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice.
