Richard Harker, Sr.

Keech was born on January 29, 1936, in Vanderbilt, Michigan, to Earl and Lennie Harker. He was raised in Muskegon, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and making memories with those he loved most.

Keech married the love of his life, Connie, and together they raised a wonderful family. They shared countless cherished memories, especially during trips Up North. Whether traveling to Manistee, exploring Michigan's Upper Peninsula, sightseeing and watching wildlife, camping with family, or simply enjoying the deer that visited his backyard, Keech was always ready for his next road trip and adventure.

Keech was a proud and dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous. One of his greatest accomplishments was maintaining more than 61 years of sobriety, a milestone he celebrated with great pride and gratitude. Following his retirement from Howmet in 1999, he treasured spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.

Keech is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Julie (Robert) and Tammy (Chris); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Schmider, Jeremy (Marisa) Martin, Tim Ostby, Tara (Nick) French, Mikayla (Al) Grimm, and Ryan (Holly) Ostby; his great-grandchildren, Braxton, Emersyn, Ellie, and Krista; and his sister, Donna (Chris).

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Harker; his son, Richard “Dick: Harker, Jr.; his parents, Earl and Lennie Harker; and his two sisters.

Keech will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, his strength, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met. His legacy of perseverance, love, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Per Keech's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
