Richard “Dick” Alva LaRue, age 84, of Muskegon, MI. passed away on August 21, 2019 from complications of cancer. He is no longer in pain and we are comforted in that. He was loved and respected by many and he was an honorable husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. If anyone needed a helping hand, Dick was who they called. He had a servant’s heart. His greatest dedication was to his spiritual life. He was an elder at Shoreline Church of Christ and Evanston Avenue Church of Christ. He was a committed and dedicated to his family and to his church family. He had a dry- but- playful sense of humor with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family all have fond memories of vacations camping at the cabin at Big Star Lake. He also enjoyed golfing, wood working and fishing with his special friend, Don Gray. He retired from Dresser Industries after 40 years of service. In addition to his beloved wife of 66 years, Mynah “Dawn” LaRue, he is survived by daughters, Diane Grill, Julie LaRue, and Lisa, and son-in-law, Randy Lipka, all of Muskegon, MI. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandkids and numerous church family members. Visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4:00-7pm. Celebration of Life will be Monday, August 26 at 1:00 pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI. There will be a luncheon following the service at Shoreline Church of Christ, 525 W. Barney Ave., Muskegon, MI. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery 3903-4016 E. Pontaluna Rd., Fruitport, MI.
