Robert (Bob) Ervin Janes was born March 29, 1936 in Irons, Michigan to William James Janes and Louise Griffes Janes. He was a beloved big brother to Janice Janes Mellon and Roy Alan Janes and favorite Uncle (partner in crime) to his nine nieces and nephews.
Bob spent most of his years between Irons and Muskegon, Michigan. He attended Muskegon Schools and Black Lake Baptist Church. Bob worked with the Goodwill training program and also at the Community Haven Farm in Coopersville. He loved to tinker with all things electronic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and nephew, James Andrew Mellon.
Bob is survived by a sister-in-law, Phyllis Strickler Janes; a brother-in-law, Alan Mellon Sr.; nieces Deborah Janes Broemer, Laurie Janes Chartrand, Angela Janes Smith, Heidi VanderStelt, Amy Mellon Love and Nephews Alan Mellon Jr.; Jim Janes and Jeff Janes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Janes Farm in Irons, Michigan on October 24, 2020.
