

Robert (Bob) James Luce was born to Marion and Robert Luce on February 16, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan. Bob had a passion for his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He and his wife Stella Cole Luce were married in 1965. He was a hard-working man with an incredible work ethic. He enjoyed helping others, especially friends and family.
Bob’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, archery and playing cards. He was also an avid reader and writer. Bob was also a second-degree black belt in karate and a two times Golden Gloves boxer.
Bob graduated from Grand Valley State University and did his graduate studies at Western Michigan University. He retired from the Defense Department in 2001. He and his wife built their retirement home on the White River.
All who knew him will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by: his mother; father; and in-laws, A.C. and Mary Cole.
He is survived by: his wife, Stella Luce; children, Joe Luce, and Julie Luce Bos; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Abby Wilson, Allison Schulte, Austin Luce, and Aidan Luce; 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Cole, and Cali.
Bob’s wishes were to be cremated. A private memorial is planned at Laketon Township Cemetery for family and close friends with Tim Bryson (Stella’s cousin) presiding.
Memorials in Bob’s name may be given to Muskegon Harbor Hospice.
