Rodney L. Burns, age 71, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013. Rodney was a retired custodian from Oakridge High School. He was a loving husband and a caring dad and grandpa. Rodney will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Darlene Burns; his children: Dawn Burns, Penny Burns, and Rod Jr.; grandchildren: Megan, Marissa, Kayleigh, Buddy, Jordan, Cedric and Taylor. A funeral service will be at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon) on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00am, Pastor Dennis Henderson officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Luncheon following burial at First Baptist Church (1070 S. Quarterline Rd., Muskegon). Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
