Sandra Lee Whelan (Siegel) age 76, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Sandra (Sandie) was born on May 15, 1944 in Kane Pennsylvania to Oscar and Dorothy Carlson along with two siblings William Carlson and Richard Carlson, all of whom preceded her in death. She moved from Pennsylvania to Muskegon, Michigan, in 1968, where she resided, worked and raised her family.
Sandie retired from Kaydon Bearing Division after 25 years of faithful service as an outstanding executive secretary. She taught Word Processing at Muskegon Community College, when it was first developed. Always found with a smile, she also enjoyed cooking (oh, her spaghetti), reading and loving on her feline friends.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Michelle (Donnie) Krisatis, Erin Reznor and Jodi (Duane) Witham, along with her grandchildren Brandon Reznor, Nicholle Hernandez, Dustin Hernandez, Amber (Victor) Reznor-Perez, Ashley Witham, and Brayden Witham. She also leaves behind 3 step grandchildren, Donnie (June) Krisatis, Brandi (Chad) Bean, Josh Krisatis, and many great- grandchildren, Gabriel, Evelyn, Wyatt, Brooklyn, Adrian, Amali, Bailey and Raymond.
“We love you too, dear!”
Sadly, Sandie endured the loss of her husband, Edward Whelan, shortly after they were married in November of 2012. Although their time together was cut short, she always considered his children and their families, as her own. We leave a tribute to her many fur babies, but most specially to her kitty “Herky”, who stayed faithfully by her side.
Due to COVID-19 and the concern of social distancing, we will be holding a private memorial to celebrate her life. If you have any memories or stories you would like to share, please sign in the online guestbook @ Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel.com
