Sarah Dawn Riley

With deep love and cherished memories, we share that Sarah Dawn Riley, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her closest friends and family. Born in Muskegon, Michigan, on March 12, 1956, to Clara and Lewis Sattory, Sarah lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to those she held dear.

A graduate of Orchard View High School, Sarah worked for Herman Miller for more than 20 years and was a long-time member of Oak Crest Church of God. Her deep faith and love of God were the foundation of her life, guiding her words, actions, and the way she cared for others. Beyond her faith, Sarah found joy in stories of every kind—whether discovered in the pages of a thriller or romance novel, told around the campfire with family, or in the sitcoms she could recount in delightfully excessive detail. She treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren and found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, supportive mother, and proud grandmother. Deeply devoted to her loved ones and endlessly compassionate, Sarah’s sassy wit and warm heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Lewis Sattory; brothers, David Sattory and Lewis “Frank” Sattory; sister, Linda (Chuck) Bray; parents-in-law, Edward and Catherine Riley; and brother-in-law, David M. Riley.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Steven Riley Sr.; children, Justin (Karen) Sattory, Stefanie Riley, and Steven (Cece) Riley Jr.; grandchildren, Justin Jr., Megan (Logan), Nathan, Avionna, Kalilah, Kenya, Emma, and Aria; brother, Matt Sattory; as well as special friends Aileen, Debbie, and cousin Vonnie.

In accordance with Sarah’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 3:00–6:00 pm at The Lithuanian Club, 2152 9th St, Muskegon, MI 49444.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
