Sheryl was born and raised in Muskegon to Carlton and Evelyn Pickard. She attended Orchard View Public Schools and graduated from Orchard View High School.
Throughout her life, Sheryl worked in several different occupations before marrying the love of her life, Michael Harper, in 1995. After their marriage, she devoted herself to being a homemaker and caring for her family, which was always her greatest joy and priority.
Sheryl was a strong and loving woman with a heart of gold. Family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. She delighted in shopping for gifts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making sure each one received a Christmas card, preparing special holiday meals, and most of all, seeing the smiles on their faces.
Sheryl also enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, camping, cooking Thanksgiving dinners, and spending time outdoors. She created countless cherished memories with family and friends throughout the years. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Michael Harper; her children, Teresa Seitz, Francine (Chris) Corpe, and Robert (Kaylee) Underwood; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Evelyn Pickard; her husband, John William Underwood; her son, John Robert Underwood; her son-in-law, William Earl Seitz, William Earl Seitz III; her uncle, Bill Asprey; and one brother.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sheryl's life will be held at a later date.
Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Though unseen, they are always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear.
