Our gentle son, Steve, age 46, passed away unexpectedly at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids on April 7, 2014. Steve was born on February 4, 1968 in Loma Linda, California, and as a youngster he experienced numerous moves while his dad served in the Air Force. Steve loved all critters and would rescue any that crossed his path. He loved soccer, playing the trombone, computer games, and ice cream. It was important to Steve to be registered as an organ donor, and he was able to give life to others as his last important task on earth. Steve was the proud father of two of our beautiful granddaughters, Brianna and Kayla Johnson. He loved them very much. He is also survived by both parents, Jerry and Linda Johnson; his younger brother, Matthew (Cheri); their children, Jacey and Cole; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will hold a private memorial service in the near future. We would like to thank the staff at Spectrum Health and the Michigan Gift of Life team for their kindness and compassion. Memorial contributions may be sent to Ferrysburg Community Church Youth Program in Stephen’s name. The family is being served by Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel.
