

Terry Allen Kunnen Sr., 69, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2020. He was born on June 12, 1950 in Fremont, Michigan to Ronald & Madeleine (Ennis) Kunnen. Terry attended Muskegon Christian School and was a graduate of Muskegon HIgh School.
Terry married Adonica Ruth Carmean on October 10, 1970. They moved to the Subic Bay Naval base in the Philippines. While stationed there Terry served in the Navy as a pharmacy technician on base and rode as a medic corpsman on helicopters flying MedEvac missions to Vietnam rescuing injured soldiers. The casualties and scars of the Vietnam War were lasting.
Upon return to the United States Terry attended Ferris State University. He made his career in sales, marketing and management with Durable Medical Equipment and Mittler/Apex gases. He was an Elder of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kunnen. He will be deeply missed by his mother and sister, Madeleine Kunnen and Vicky McClurken; brothers Ron (Carol) Kunnen of CA, Paul (Karen) Kunnen FL and Ken Kunnen of Muskegon; many nephews and nieces; his sons Terry Jr. (Amy Jo) Kunnen of Muskegon and Nicholas (Jacqueline) Kunnen of Twin Lake; as well as the boys’ mother, Adonica (Carmean) Kunnen of North Muskegon. His legacy will live on in his grandchildren: Madelynn, Natalie, Benjamin and Tanner.
Terry will be remembered for his famous fishing, hunting and construction stories and shenanigans. As “Papa” he delighted in the character and livelihood of his grandchildren. He found no greater pleasure than the time he spent with family, the outdoors and good friends.
