Thomas John Hawkins, Sr. was born Feb. 14, 1943 in Muskegon. He lived a long healthy life. Thomas was a teacher, loving father to his two sons, Jeff Davis and Thomas Hawkins Jr., mechanic, business owner and landlord. He ascertained 5 different college degrees, was a master mechanic and master carpenter. Thomas also had a hobby with raising chickens for eggs and turkeys for meals and Thanksgiving .He retired in 1988 from Muskegon Public Schools and Muskegon County Courthouse. During his time as a teacher he taught Math, mechanics and electronics. He passed away on Dec. 30th, 2019 in his sleep after a massive heart attack and major stroke, he is now resting in peace. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Ever Rest Funeral Home.
