Tony attended Orchard View High School, and after graduating, Tony served his country in the Marines from January 1968 to May 1977. He was employed by Mahle Engine Components for 30 years. He married his love, Eleanor (Willer) Meinders on June 4, 1972 in Oceanside, California. Tony was lovingly known by nicknames such as Tunker, Tonette, and Big T. He loved spending time in nature to hunt and fish. In his free time, he liked playing cards, visiting the casino, showing his artistic side by restoring furniture, and his favorite of all—being with family.
Tony is survived and remembered by his wife, Eleanor, daughter, Shannon Willer-Meinders, sister, Wilma Seidl, and siblings-in-law, Joe and Kathy Willer, Sue Pickard, Patti (Dale) Smith, Marilyn Meinders, John, Bob, and George Willer, Garry and Julia Willer, and Delores (Gerald) Place.
Loved ones preceding Tony in passing are his parents, Anthony and Zoa (Wessel) Meinders, parents-in-law, Joseph and Blanche Willer, siblings, Frank, LeRoy, and Robert Meinders, LuRena Hodgins, and Barb Medendorp, siblings-in-law, Merle Meinders, Sally Meinders, Bill Hodgins, Daniel Medendorp, and Jack Seidl, nieces, Courtney and Serenity Meinders and Julie Ann Meinders, and nephews, Garret and Danny Meinders.
There will be a visitation at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel on December 10, 2020, 12pm to 1pm, and Burial with Military Rites at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions in Tony’s name may be made to the Cancer Society or Pound Buddies.
