

Violet Mae Hartman (Farr, Dandy) age 92, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Violet was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, to Morgan Farr and Pearl Ross. She attended Muskegon public schools and graduated before joining the Air Force on March 13, 1952.
In 1953, Violet married her sweetheart, William Hartman(Shorty), and together they built a beautiful life and family until his passing in 1997. She worked in retail for many years, where she enjoyed interacting with people and excelling in sales. Violet was also an active member of the school board and worked for various cleaning business
Violet loved spending time on the lake, creating cherished memories while fishing with her family. She enjoyed ceramics, puzzles, and hosting festive holiday celebrations at her home. She also treasured trips to Watersmeet for fishing on Crooked Lake.
Violet is survived by her children: Kevin (Peggy) Hartman, Mark (Joni) Hartman, Holly (Marsha Wagner)Garvey, and Glen Hartman; her grandchildren: Kevin, Eric, and Brent (Kendell) Hartman; Spencer (Karla) Hartman, Angela & Nicole Pike, Journee Walsh, Hannah, Maxwell, and Gabriel Hartman as well as her nieces, Violet Dado and April Schaefer, and her beloved neighbor Suzanne Adams.
She has been reunited with her parents, Morgan Farr and Pearl Ross; her husband, William Hartman; her son, Bruce Hartman; and Granddaughter, Danielle Hartman; and son-in-law L. Roger Garvey in addition to her and brothers and sisters, step-father Bill Dandy.
Memorial contributions can be made in Violet's name to the Egelston Fire Department or Harbor Hospice of Muskegon. A life celebration will be held at a later date.
