Wayne was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to Lewis Edward Sells and Irene Marie Eagen. In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Army, served in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1968.
In 1967, Wayne married Rinda (Popp) and they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in February.
Wayne held several jobs in his lifetime, but what he loved the most was tinkering with engines, small and large. When you could not find him, all you had to do was look in the garage as he always kept busy fixing something.
Wayne’s other hobby was bowling. He enjoyed socializing with friends and being a part of many bowling teams over the years. Wayne kept everyone entertained with his stories and quirky jokes and remarks.
Above all else, Wayne was a kind-hearted man who would help anyone who needed it.
Wayne is survived by wife Rinda (Popp); daughters Bobbie (David) Ehlers of Michigan, Julie Sargent-Case of Kansas; grandchildren Samantha (Nick) Ursin and Alexandra Ehlers of Michigan, Brenan (Evelin) Talavera of New Mexico and Estin Talavera, Taylor Case, Neil Case all of Kansas; great-granddaughter Logan; brother Robert Sells and sister Peggy Shell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
