

Dan is survived by his wife Gloria; three sons Jason, Geoff, and Justin (Fiona); and four grandchildren Connor, Curtis, Aidan, and Melody.
His granddaughter Aimée predeceased him at age 14 in 2016.
Dan was born in Souris, Manitoba and attended school in Winnipeg and Souris. He lived with several foster parents in Winnipeg before living on the farm in Souris with Bob and Edie Logan.
He worked at Brandon Automobiles, Jacobson & Griener, MacArthur Truck & Trailer, and Westbran before working for the Province of Manitoba. He was past president of the YMCA, a past president and life member of the Brandon Kinsmen Club. He also served as an Alderman for the City of Brandon from 1980-1992, during which time he served on various boards such as the Brandon General Hospital, the Police Commission, the Brandon & Area Planning District, the Keystone Centre and the Industrial Commission. Upon retirement, he and Gloria moved to Vancouver Island, settling in Ladysmith and spent the winter months in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to BC Cancer or a charity of your choice.
