She was born on August 9, 1933 in Isleworth, Middlesex, England to parents Lily and James Cowley.
Dawn is survived by her husband of 65 years, Terry; sons Bob and Dave; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and three brothers in England.
Dawn and her family came to Canada in 1965 and settled in Montreal. In 1990, Dawn and Terry made the move to Vancouver Island to enjoy their retirement years.
Dawn was always a creative person, making pottery and handmade
greeting cards for many years. She enjoyed spending her time doing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, travelling, cruises, bus and train trips, and especially being with others and socializing.
Amongst her many friends are residents, management and staff at Berwick on the Lake. Dawn was a founding member of the “Circle of Friends” at Berwick on the Lake and was always ready to welcome new residents with a kind word and offer to sit with the group. She will be deeply missed.
My girl friend gave me 65 years of complete and total happiness, we had great fun and no regrets, I miss you sweetheart.
Following Dawn’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dawn’s memory can be made to the Nanaimo SPCA.
