Doug was born on July 28th 1954 in Calgary, Alberta. In 1972, he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and worked an illustrious career spanning 37 years. In his time with the RCMP, he served much of his career in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
In 2010, Doug retired and he occupied his days with mountain biking, travelling and being a social butterfly to the many friends he made in Nanaimo.
Doug is survived by his mother, Marguerite McRitchie; sister Nancy Kirby; brothers Bruce McRitchie and Mark McRitchie; and his sons Scott Stennes and Jordan Drew.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held on December 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Nanaimo Rugby Club.
