In Loving Memory of George Turner

Mr. George Turner was born November 12th, 1930 in Manchester (Droylsden) England. George loved every moment of being family man. He worked as a Coal Miner in England before immigrating to Canada in April of 1966. While in Canada, George worked for the School Board district 68, and finished his career with the City of Nanaimo before retiring in 1996.

George loved to garden and could always be seen tinkering with different parts of his house. He was always happy, but never satisfied that the work was ever complete. He loved plants and flowers, he could tell you the name of every plant in his garden and the story of the custom cedar boxes he created for them. George loved his family, and loved spending time with his wife Ellen, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren - his family share the same sentiment. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his care, love and passion for the Vancouver Canucks. Arguably there was no bigger fan.

George and Ellen Turner were married on March 29th, 1952 and would be celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary this year.

Survivors include his beloved wife Ellen Turner, Son, Steve Turner (wife Brenda), Daughters; Susan Lafleur (husband Bert) & Brenda Costin (husband Larry), Grandchildren; Shawn Lafleur (wife Alexandra), Breanna Turner, Bruce Beadle, Kevin Costin, Nadine Vandale (husband Glen), Great grandchildren; Tellissa Beadle (partner Aaron), Tessa Beadle (deceased) Troy Vandale, Tyler Vandale, Shane Vandale. Great great grandchild; Bentley Bennett

George will forever be in our heart and his memories will live on with all of us every day.
