It is with heavy hearts that we have to inform you that Randy passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home. Randy was very well known for his hockey skills and was a founding member of the Cowichan Capitals. He also spent 32 years at the Crofton Pulp Mill.
Randy was well liked by all who knew him and had a great sense of humour. He leaves behind his life partner Angel Frost of 15 years, his son Alex (Jenna) Vanyo, step-daughters Angelena Essery (Josh), Danielle Frost (Fred Daigneault), and 2 step-grandchildren that he adored, Scotia and Jackson, aunts, uncles and many cousins, nieces and nephews and his sisters Diana and Francis. Randy was pre-deceased by his father, Frank Vanyo, his mother Ruth Vanyo, brothers, Graham and Ken, sister Jeanie, and two step-grandchildren Allan and Charles Essery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a minor hockey association of your choice.
A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Eagles Hall at 2965 Boys Rd, Duncan BC. We will be holding two services because of COVID-19. The first will be held at 3:30 pm and the second at 6:30 pm.
