IN THE CARE OF

First Memorial Funeral Services

Inge was born in Koslin, Germany, a small historical town hear the Baltic Sea that is now part of Poland.

Her family enjoyed many summers vacationing on the Baltic Sea. When the Russian troops invaded Koslin at the end of World War II her family fled to Denmark where they lived for three years. When the family returned to Germany Inge completed her schooling, enrolled in university and received her nursing degree.

Upon completing university, Inge travelled extensively in Europe and Scandinavia. In 1952 she travelled to Canada by steamship. She worked in Ontario for three years as a nurse. Inge then decided to head west and worked in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and in Squamish, B.C. where she enjoyed working as a nurse in the tiny hospital there. Inge later relocated to Nanaimo and worked for the remaining 32 years of her nursing career at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Inge loved dogs. Her passion was the Kerry Blue Terrier and she was a highly respected Kerry Blue Terrier breeder under the kennel name Terkyra. Inge enjoyed conformation shows, agility, obedience training, tracking and many other dog activities. She was a lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Nanaimo Kennel Club.

Predeceased by her parents, her sister and her close friend Lotte Kroeger, she is survived by her two nieces in Germany and many many friends and their dogs.
