Jack Douglas Bowe

October 11, 1927 – March 28, 2024
Obituary of Jack Douglas Bowe
IN THE CARE OF

First Memorial Funeral Services

Jack Douglas Bowe (96) passed away peacefully in palliative care from Prostate Cancer. As he had no symptoms prior to his passing: Jack being Jack, he carried on living the life that we can all hope to aspire too.

Pre deceased by his wife, Verna, in 2011; Jack leaves behind his children, Lynne (Brock) White and Doug (Shelley) Bowe. As well as three grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) White, John (Hanna) Bowe, & Christina Bowe; and one great grandson, Royce White.

His passion for life was embracing. He kept busy over the years with Sailing, Dancing, Cycling locally and in Europe, Water & Snow Skiing, Travelling, Coffee meetings, entertaining friend’s, and in his down time reading. At the age of 90 he always commented on how he felt he was slowing down. Yes Jack….you are supposed to slow down at 90!

A heart felt thank you goes out to NRGH. Dr. Marwood, Dr. Kingsley, Dr. Mcllwaine & Dr. Workun-Hill, who went above and beyond including the ER & 5th floor staff. As well as to The Palliative Care Unit that took care of Jack & the family under their wing during Jacks next journey in life.

A Celebration of Life (Jacks Party as he called it) will be held at: The Nanaimo Yacht Club on July 20th, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Jacks second Celebration of Life will be at: The White House (Lynne & Brocks), 6719 Acacia Avenue, Burnaby BC on Sept 14th, 2024 from 2:00-5:00pm. Snacks and refreshments to be served.
