Survived by her daughter, Beverly and husband Rick, son Frank, granddaughters Stephanie Miller and husband Rob, 2 great grandchildren, Sophie and Elliot Miller, Kimberly Froehle and her cat Farley.
Joan was a student at Kitsilano high school, Fairview Business College and became a legal Secretary in Vancouver, BC, retiring at age 70. Joan moved to Nanaimo, BC in October of 2014.
Back in the day she loved playing cards, Bowling, Bingo in the Church basements and travelling to Reno.
Kiwanis Lodge was her home for the last 9 months. She was an active participant in games, activities and crafts. Joan will be remembered as a lively fun spirit.
The family wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to the 4th floor of Kiwanis Lodge for their loving care and the rest of the staff who all had encouraging words and made sure Mom was engaged and participating.
