Joan Husband

Joan passed away in her sleep on March 15, 2023 at the age of 93 with her son, Ken at her side. Joan was born in Cheshire (UK) and moved to Canada in the mid 1950s. Joanne is predeceased by her parents, Ethel & T.C.Warhurst (UK) & her son, Robert Chalmers (Ont). She will be sadly missed and remembered by her sister, Cynthia Hurley and nieces, Karen, Audrey, Wendy, Lynda (England), her brother, Terry Warhurst (Ont) her children, Ken Dixon, grand kitty, Tassi (Nanaimo), Allan Chalmers (Ont),Barb lee(AB), grandsons, David and Robin, Tollan and their families (AB). Joanne enjoyed gardening and spending time in her yard whenever she could and was involved with many groups and served 1 or 2 terms on the “Cultural Commitee for the city of Nanaimo. Joanne was an active member of the Bowen park seniors doing exercise 2 times a week until a couple of months before her passing. She was a “Life Time member “of the Nanaimo Theatre Group for over 40+ years! Many thanks to Nanaimo Home Support and the Palliative care unit of NRGH for all their help and support during this time. No service at Joanne’s request, and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nanaimo Theatre Group in her memory.
