Marilyn passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on December 18, 2020. She spent her final days at the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital after a sudden onset of ischemic stroke. Marilyn was born on October 20, 1947 and raised in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. She enjoyed travelling. She travelled from Nipawin, Saskatchewan to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she met, Robert Lee Roffey, whom she married in 1984 in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Marilyn worked as a Nurse’s Care Aide at the local hospital in Lacombe, Alberta. She and her husband, Lee, settled in at Red Deer, Alberta. It was here that they had their two children and after 10 years she and her family moved to beautiful, British Columbia, in 1992.
Marilyn was active in her community organizing a doll club which included many collectible porcelain dolls. She also had a passion for collecting rare antiques and she would often display her collection at the local flea market. Marilyn loved dancing and she enjoyed many nights out dancing with her friends and with her daughter, Dawn. She enjoyed cooking and she often prepared international cuisines for her family and friends. Marilyn was a very kind and gentle soul. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two children, Dawn Roffey (Pringle) and Greg Roffey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee Roffey.
