April 21,1922 - January 15, 2019
Born in Victoria, BC, and passed away in Nanaimo in the presence of loving family at the age of 96. Our dear mom, Norma, was predeceased by our father, Philip in 1971, a little grandson, Adam and her brother, John Clayton. She is survived by her children, John (Liz), Mike (Janet) and Judy, her grandchildren, Samantha, Ian (Ev), Meghan (James), Jordan (Jen), Breanna (Carlos) and Dylan. Six great grandchildren brought even further joy and pride to Mom, Nova, Barrett, Dax, Violet, Nicolás and Jack. Many nieces and nephews will remember her fondly.
Norma was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a creative and generous hostess, cook, seamstress, gardener, traveller, avid bridge player and artist.
Mom spent her early years in Bella Coola and Victoria and graduated from Vic High in 1940. She accompanied Phil, a highways engineer, from the Hope-Princeton, Smithers, Burns Lake and Penticton to Prince George. After Phil passed away, she lived many years in Victoria and later in Nanaimo. Norma lived a long life fully and we were privileged to be a part of it. A family gathering is planned for May.
