Normand Marcel Savard

It is with sadness the family of Marcel Savard announce his passing on July 15, 2016. Predeceased by his wife, Queen, in 2011, Marcel is survived by his children Mike (Louise), Cathy (Dale), Greg (Anne), Danny (Sherry) and Anne-Marie (Nick); grandchildren Tyler (Kim), Nathan, Kirsten (Bryan), Stacey (Gord), Stephanie (Trevor), Amanda, Kayla, Michael (Melissa), Andre (Carlie) and Jason Rainko; and 4 great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Clifford, Sutton and Landon. Marcel is also survived by his sisters Murielle, Marie and Paulette (Herve).

Marcel worked hard to support his family as family was his whole world. He proudly reported to all who asked (and many who didn't) what we all did and what we meant to him. Marcel provided wise counsel to family as well as many friends in volunteer positions. He was recognized for his work with the volunteer bureau of Nanaimo and Trinity Catholic finance committee.

Marcel's twinkling blue eyes were the hallmark of his quick wit and sense of humour. His cribbage playing was unsurpassed - those of us left behind now stand a chance of winning!

Thanks go to the staff at Thrifty's Foods and Ricky's restaurant for the service they provided to Marcel over many years. The support you provided to him was like an extension of the family and he felt safe and cared for by you.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass to celebrate his life on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Catholic Church 6234 Spartan Road, Nanaimo. Reception to follow.
