Peter is predeceased by his wife Carole Mae Dunford and his parents Daniel and Cornelia Koopmans.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Peter Jr. (Jacqueline), daughters Tracey (Paul) MacKinnon, Kerrey (Phillip) Munday, Christina (Kent) Indseth, grandchildren Maeghan and Jackson as well as the relatives and many friends whom he shared his life with while residing in Newfoundland and Nanaimo, BC.
Peter was born on March 18th, 1940, in Badhoevedorp Holland and immigrated with his parents to Ontario Canada in 1951. Growing up in Canada, Peter graduated from Ryerson Technical College as a bright, innovative, and entrepreneurial businessman who enjoyed a diversified career while proudly raising his family of four children.
With a cutting-edge sense of humor and never hesitating desire to tell a story he was a true conversationalist at heart and enjoyed catching your laughter if you would lend your ear in return.
He also was an aficionado of many things from politics to collectibles. Whatever he set his mind to he was determined to do …or not do it! He was indeed the self-proclaimed inventor, and his handiwork can be seen through the many radios, gadgets, works of art and electronics he restored over the years. He will be missed and never forgotten.
There will be a Celebration of life to be held in St. Johns, Newfoundland. In the interim, condolences are welcomed by the family and will be collected by his daughter Christina at [email protected]
