To Jim, Deb and Mike and your families:

The Crosby family is saddened by the news of Ron's passing. Since Jim and I became life long friends at Quadra Elementary, Ron and Jean always treated me and our family as part of the Ferguson family. They were always there to offer support, especially when our sons were young. Little Sean would refer to them as "Mr and Mrs Ferguson and Ron". We are thankful that Ron is free of the pain he couragously endured the past two years. He was quiet,caring and good natured, and will be forever in our hearts.

To the Ferguson Family, My sincere condolences on the passing of "Fergie". I was fortunate to work with Ron in patrol before he got promoted and moved onto the detective office.  He always had a calm demeanour which served to deescalate a tense situation. Fergie was well respected on and off the job. He will be missed.

To the Ferguson Family;

I am sorry to hear about Ron's passing.  I worked with your Dad and we would often leave after a night shift and head out to Brentwood Bay and fish. The golf for me came later.  John MacDonald and I certainly missed Fergie in our foursome this Sept in the Police Memorial Tournament.  He was aways a solid competitor and enjoyed a laugh.

Our condolences to all of you! He will be missed.

To the Ferguson family
I'm very sorry to learn of Ron's death.  I worked with him many years ago at the Victoria Police Department, but I knew him better from the golf course.  Ron won the Police Tournament many times - as a serving member and as a retired one - and was always a contender.  We just had another tournament last month - our annual memorial tournament to honour the memory of our police colleagues who have passed away -and I asked someone, "Where's Fergie?"  The last time I saw him was at such a tournament when I introduced him as the seniormost retired member present.  He was a fine man.  The police community will remember him fondly - and especially at next year's memorial golf tournament.

We played many soccer games together, he was the right defence man in front of me & I was the goal keeper. Lots of good memories, a real team person, very sorry for your loss, Hugh Hollingworth

To Jim, Deb, Mike and your families. I was so saddened to see Ron has left to hopefully go on to better things. I ran into him at the casino quite often and he always had time to chat with me. He was such a great man and I am very sorry for your loss.

To Ron's family, our sincere condolences.  We were Ron's neighbour between 1987-1994. Over those years we did many projects around our houses, and that's when I really got to know Ron.  He was a quiet, kind, hard working man who was the best neighbour you could ever hope for. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time and know Ron will be deeply missed.

I was blessed enough to be acquainted with Ron a number of times over the (police) years; he was indeed a gentleman to the core, and a positive influence on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

I, sadly did not know him, but, I knew "of" him.  He was my cousin.  Eric Parkinson's nephew.

To Ron's family.  I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  My name is Lorraine Holt nee Parkinson.  I am Ron's cousin, my father was Eric Parkinson.  My husband Hal and I had visited with your dad about a year ago and he was kind enough to send me copies of pictures of the family.  Ron and I played together as children on Michigan Street and spent many Christmas dinners at our Aunty Dorothy and Uncle Bert's house on 5th Street.  It came as quite a shock to me when I opened up the obits to see Ron's face there.  I will always regret that we hadn't kept in touch more often.  Our deepest sympathy.  With much love and sadness, Lorraine and Hal.

Debbie, Jim & Mike: So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  It was a pleasure working, and playing golf with him.  He was always a gentleman, always fair and such a strong family man.  A good policeman and a good friend. He will be missed.

Ron was our soccer coach at Lake Hill along with Ed. Our team was made up of talented and tough players. Somehow Ron gently taught us how to keep our cool on the field when we were unhappy about calls or opposing players antics and to get back at the competition with skill not fists. Well it worked most of the time. Our road trips were legendary as the whole team knew Ed and Ron would relax over a beer at the bar when we were all settled in our rooms. Well when they returned after a few pints it was chaos with the players. Fun Times for us, not so for them. RIP Ron and thanks for caring about a bunch of snotty nose kids  Wayne Dalby
