It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Eileen McGrath. Shirley was a retired nurse and held several volunteer positions over the years, including Bowen Senior Songsters. Among her many hobbies were her love of gardening, knitting and crocheting. Earlier in life, she paddled for a dragon boat team.
Shirley is survived by daughters Crystal (Kevin) Ross and Cherie Ross with grandson Carter Ross, plus siblings John (Bernie) deWynter, Norm (Pat) deWynter, twin sister Cheryl (Bob) Mackie, Jean (Clive) Deary and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nanaimo Mental Health Association or a charity of choice.
No service will be held by Shirley's request.
