Victor Garry Walther

With heavy hearts we inform you that our brother Vic has ridden off into the sunset. His passing was swift and unexpected.

Vic is survived by his two sisters, Doris Edwards and Margit Scott, his nephew Brenden, niece Kandis, her son Andrew, cousin Bella and his best bud Pete as well as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles over in Germany. He is predeceased by both parents Fred and Frieda Walther and his favourite aunt Lotte.

Vic was a creature of habit, an island boy that spent many good years riding his mountain bike, downhill racing as well as his other hobbies including tennis and skiing. Years ago he was a ‘big’ bad bouncer at Frisco’s and also worked over in Whistler. He did all this with only one arm having lost his dominant arm to cancer as a young man. He was easy to recognize; the guy with the cool prosthesis (black with orange flames).

Vic and friend Gree designed and maintained his website MTB Amputee and for many years he could be found at his friend Pete’s place where they would cheer on their fave sports teams. If asked, Vic would have told you that he had a great life.

RIP bro. Guess its 420 somewhere, so lite up and ride on.
