Alan lived a great life and on his own terms. He was a rare soul who brought meaning to his endeavors rather than let circumstances define him. He was a successful businessman who ran Archway Ford, his automobile dealership, in Baltimore, Maryland, with integrity and honor for decades. Many remember Alan for his kindness and willingness to extend himself for others. He was active in Maryland politics.
Alan had an inquisitive, brilliant mind and enjoyed reading philosophy and other eclectic subjects throughout his life.
For those who knew Alan, one of his greatest passions was tennis. As with everything he did, he played with honor, skill, competitiveness and a relentless determination to never give up.
He doted on his grandchildren and was a fabulous father and husband.
He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his children Harris, Robert and Sally (and her husband Rodney), and his grandchildren Alex and Julia. The family is particularly grateful for Alan’s truest friend, Bill Swift.
Donations in his honor may be made to Chabad of Naples (chabadnaples.com) or a charity of your choice.
