Beloved and cherished husband, father, and stepfather, “Andy” Brodhun passed away March 14, 2018, after losing his hard fought battle with leukemia.
Survivors Include his loving and devoted wife, Ellen; his daughter, Anne Watson (Rick),
his son, Andrew John Brodhun, and his brother, John Charles Brodhun (Sharon), five
grandchildren, and three devoted stepsons.
A proud graduate and donor to Michigan State University, Andy went to serve in the U.S.Army for several years as a Bridge Commander on the USS Albany after he graduated.
After Andy’s service, he returned to Michigan and married Sara Lee Brodhun, to whom he was married for 42 years before Sara’s passing in 2007.
Andy then met and married his wife Ellen in 2010.
Andy had a successful career as evidenced by his nomination to President of Michigan National Bank at the age of 42. Following a 20 year career at Michigan National, he was elected to serve as the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Security Bank and Trust, headquartered in Michigan, employing 2000 people.
Andy was always known as a people person and truly never met a stranger. He was benevolent with advice and stern with honesty. His sense of humor was renown to his family and friends. He lived his life with dignity and grace.
His many hobbies included playing his guitar while singing in his beautiful tenor voice; playing a round of golf with good friends,sailing his boat on Lake St. Clare teaching his children and friends to sail; building model boats and planes which he would fly; and operating a HAM radio, speaking daily to people across the globe.
His life was one beautifully lived and he will be greatly missed.
