

March 17, 1925 - January 16, 2015
Annie (Anne) Wynn left this earth and entered into the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father on Friday January 16, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Anne was born in Montgomery, Alabama, to William J. and Fannie Echols on Saint Patrick’s Day March 17, 1925. Anne was one of 6 girls and 1 boy who lost their mother when she was only 6 years old. Anne moved to Everglades City to live with her Aunt and Uncle, 2 sisters and her brother and graduated from Everglades High School in a senior class of 6 students. In Everglades City, they lived in the Laundry run by her Aunt and Uncle that is now the Everglades City Museum. After High School Anne moved to Naples and worked for Mr. Canant at the electric power office.
Anne was introduced to Don Q. Wynn by her sister Lurlene and was married June 16, 1946 at First United Methodist Church of Naples. Don built his first grocery store on Fifth Avenue South in 1948 and Anne would work there running a register and eventually holding her first born son Larry as she worked. Anne became a homemaker for Don and their 5 children as the family businesses grew to be run by her sons and daughter and is now being overseen by three of their grandchildren.
Anne Wynn spent her entire life serving God, caring for family and friends, always sending a card, calling or taking food to someone sick or mourning a lost loved one. No one ever left her home hungry or without the smile that spread from her love to all others. We have lost a gracious saint who taught everyone by example with her faith in the Lord exemplifying a caring soul who always worked to brighten a day for someone else.
Annie Merle Echols Wynn was preceded in death by her husband, Don Q. Wynn, infant son, Danny, grandson, Randy Russell Wynn, mother, Fannie Echols, father, William J. Echols, brother Leroy Echols, sisters, Irene Cadenhead, Ruby Riner, Lurlene Chesser. She is survived by her 5 children, Larry (Gay), Tom (Lori), Jerry (Lisette), Tim (Patti), Linda Wynn Smith (Bill) 20 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 2 of her sisters, Frances (Echols) Fitzek, Judy (Echols) Storter.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, a Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, January 21st at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Naples, Chapel, 3000 Orange Blossom Drive. Internment to follow -Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida or First Baptist Church of Naples, Preschool Ministry.
