

Arlene was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Mary Azukas on April 9, 1940. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Pharmacy and married her husband, Robert Kovera, on January 26, 1963 in Chicago. Together they owned and operated several pharmacies in the Chicago area until relocating to Naples, FL in 1972. There they owned the Naples 5th Avenue Pharmacy for many years before selling the business and pursuing their shared and life-long passion for real estate in the 1980’s.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kovera, her daughter, Linda Kovera, her brother, John Azukas, and his wife Susan, and her parents Joseph and Mary Azukas.
Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Janet Elliott and her husband Robert Elliott and Kathy Knabel Bailey and her husband Randy Hoy, her grandchildren, Michael Knabel and Brian Robinson and his wife, Kathryn, her step-grandchildren Elyse Hunter and Hanna Barnett, her great grandchildren Asa Robinson, Silas Robinson, Beatrix Hunter, James Hunter and Logan Hunter, her sister Rita Loftus and her husband William Loftus and her six nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at her home at 3695 Gordon Drive, Naples, FL 34102 on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 1pm-4pm.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the many caregivers and friends who cared for her with great compassion and dedication and made it possible for Arlene to remain in her home in her final years. The family would also like to recognize Avow Hospice for their excellent support and care in her final months.
