

She was born in Princeton, NJ to Harold and Georgie Weinert. After graduating from high school and Sullins College in VA Bette joined the WAVES as a recruiter during WWII. When recruiting closed she became a flight attendant stationed with squadron VR3 Naval Air Transport Service in Olathe, Kansas where she met and married Walter W. Crowson of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She and her husband moved to Los Altos Hills, CA where she became active as a Real Estate Broker and activities with her two daughters Georgie and Carolyn. After her husband passed away, she retired to Lake Tahoe Incline Village and became busy with the hospital auxiliary, bridge circles and continued her oil painting. She was a docent for Timberlake Lodge and volunteered with Hospice Services. She spent the last 4 ½ years living with her daughter Georgie Koppin in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
She is survived by her daughters Georgie Koppin and Carolyn Lettice; grandsons Eric Koppin and Damian Crowson; great grandsons Kayden Koppin, Anthony Crowson and Alex Crowson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration on Saturday, April, 6, 2013 at 11am at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, FL 34332.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Bette’s name can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
