

She was born in Hampton, CT to Jerome Cranston and Emma Covert Keech. She trained as a registered nurse, but her dream was to be an airline stewardess. She realized that dream when she joined American Airlines; first as a stewardess and later in Reservations and Ticketing. She met and married the love of her life, Bob James, while living in Manhattan.
Betty leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" James, her sister Marjorie "Marge" Wisniewski (Earle), step daughter Carolyn James (Phil Galloway), grand-daughter Rooney James, stepson Michael James, granddaughter Alicia James and great grandchild, Tristan James. She also leaves Seven precious nieces and nephews: Linda (Aden) Ruwet, Jeffrey (Jeanne) Poirier, Joan (Rob) Claflin, Alliene Poirier(Frank Campanaro), Brenda (Ed) Masterson, Steven (Dana) Poirier, David (Dona) Poirier; and 19 grand nieces and nephews.
Betty has asked to be remembered as being loving, cheerful and close to God. We, who loved her, will miss presence in our midst, but know her spirit is with her Lord.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held 1:00 PM on March 24, 2017 at Aston Gardens, 4800 Aston Gardens Way, Naples, FL.
